Blocking Morpheus ports prooving a problem?
There is much discussion on the net regarding which ports Morpheus uses. That should not be a surprise as it tried to access many file sharing access networks - its advertising includes "Search multiple P2P networks including BitTorrent to download MP3s, videos, and games. ".
The original Morpheus used port 1214 together with 6346 and 6347, like many early file sharing programs. Now that is is a more complex beast, Morpheus can use any port. According to some sources, "Morpheus picks a random port when it is installed" and you can "set the ports to be what you like".
You won't trap Morpheus's ports for long, because your users can move to different ports.
